Bitcoin traders are increasingly looking beyond simple bets on price, with risk management becoming a more prominent theme as markets prepare for 21 October 2026.
Bitcoin was listed at $83,333.91, up 2.37%, in the latest Crypto Daybook Americas update. The market briefing also highlighted the possibility that weakness in equities could reduce demand for bitcoin, despite the cryptocurrency recording its strongest exchange-traded fund inflows in a month.
Strategy’s price chart is also close to producing a major bullish signal, weeks after bitcoin displayed a similar pattern. Meanwhile, traders are expected to gain the ability to bet on whether Coinbase, Robinhood and Marathon will meet their targets.
Stablecoins were another focus of the day-ahead outlook. Diversified real-world-asset stablecoins are described as offering yields of 5-7% through real credit, while crypto funding rates have compressed to about 4%. The report said the GENIUS Act is pushing yield-generating activity off-chain, with the total addressable market expected to reach $4B in 3 years.
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency’s final rule will also revisit how stablecoin rewards should be assessed against the GENIUS Act ban.
Crypto markets rose alongside Asian technology stocks, while zcash extended its gains after developers set a date for an upgrade. Zcash developers confirmed that the November update is intended to triple payment speed.
Bitcoin was reported to be clinging to $82,500 in live market updates, while SpaceX results lifted stock futures. SpaceX and Tesla are also exploring a merger that would bring together more than 30,000 bitcoin.
Other developments included renewed activity in Monero futures, where leverage is increasing and adding to volatility risks. Tether led a $15 million funding round for Mural, an artificial-intelligence-focused payments start-up.
Ripple has brought Wall Street into round-the-clock bets on stocks, although HSBC warned that markets remain thin. Solana’s Alpenglow upgrade, described as its biggest network overhaul since 2020, is scheduled to go live on Wednesday.
The outlook also noted a security failure at a company that verifies websites, where eight secret keys were cracked after being found to be inadequately protected.
