U.S. spot bitcoin and ether exchange-traded funds recorded combined net inflows of $2.6bn last week, their strongest weekly performance since October 2025, according to The Block’s analysis of SoSoValue data.
Spot bitcoin ETFs attracted $1.9bn, while spot ether ETFs brought in $697.2m. Both groups recorded their largest weekly inflows of 2026.
The result marked a sharp reversal from the combined $392m outflow recorded in the previous week, representing a week-on-week swing of about $3bn. It also more than doubled the $1.1bn combined inflow in the week ending 7 August, which had previously been the strongest result for both categories since April.
Bitcoin ETFs’ $1.9bn weekly inflow was their highest since the week ending 10 October 2025. Those funds recorded $2.7bn in net inflows during that period, according to SoSoValue. Their cumulative net inflows since trading began have now reached $53.7bn.
Trading activity also increased considerably. Combined volume rose from $6.9bn the previous week to $22.1bn, an increase of more than 219%. Total net assets under management climbed by 25.4%, from $76.6bn to $96.1bn, reflecting both the new investment and a rise in bitcoin’s price.
A significant portion of the buying came during the market rally on Wednesday and Thursday. Bitcoin ETFs attracted $517.2m on Wednesday, their largest single-day inflow since 4 May, according to an earlier report by The Block. A further $606.3m entered the funds on Thursday, including $503m invested in BlackRock’s IBIT.
Ether ETFs also posted their strongest weekly inflows since October. Their $697.2m total was the highest since the week ending 3 October 2025, when they attracted almost $1.3bn, SoSoValue data showed.
The US-based ether ETFs had recorded a net outflow of $2.3m in the previous week. Their cumulative net inflows since launch now stand at $12.2bn.
Weekly trading volume for ether ETFs increased from $1.9bn to $6.9bn, a rise of 259.4%. Their net assets grew by 35.9%, from $10.5bn to $14.3bn.
Ether ETF net assets are now approximately $2.1bn higher than cumulative net inflows. Two weeks earlier, assets had been about $711m below cumulative inflows. The change largely reflects ether’s price gains alongside the latest investment.
The fund flows came as the wider cryptocurrency market rallied. Bitcoin briefly traded above $79,000 on Friday during its biggest weekly gain in two years. Bitcoin and ether both rose by between 24% and 28% over the week, according to The Block.
On Saturday afternoon, bitcoin was trading near $77,200, while ether changed hands at about $2,423, based on prices published by The Block.
Despite the strong weekly performance, the funds remain in negative territory for 2026. Bitcoin ETFs have recorded approximately $2.9bn in net outflows for the year, while ether ETFs have lost about $191.8m. The latest inflows nevertheless reduced the combined year-to-date deficit for the two categories from $5.7bn to $3.1bn.
