World has launched World Money in more than 150 countries, bringing stablecoin balances, international transfers, digital-asset trading, Morpho-powered Earn programmes and virtual accounts together in a self-custody financial app.
Availability differs by jurisdiction, so the rollout does not provide every user with access to all payment, trading, virtual-account or Earn features. World describes the service as the financial counterpart to World ID, allowing existing users to carry their verification status into the new app.
The app supports stablecoin balances linked to eight currencies. Users can hold supported dollar and local-currency stablecoins, monitor portfolios, review transaction histories, set price alerts and send assets to other users using their World username.
Transfers between World Money users usually take seconds, although processing times can depend on the payment method and destination. World warns that stablecoins are digital assets rather than insured bank deposits.
Local stablecoins operate on World Chain and can be exchanged within the app where available. World’s support documentation gives wARS, which tracks the Argentine peso, as an example. Users can acquire supported local stablecoins by swapping assets such as USDC, while access to fiat transfers depends on local payment providers.
The Trade section includes WLD, wrapped Bitcoin and wrapped Ether. Selected real-world assets, including gold, are available through third-party trading services, although the token list can vary by country and may change.
Stripe and virtual accounts
Stripe will initially power funding for users in the United States. Through an Apple Pay flow built into World Money, users can convert supported funds into stablecoins, which World says will generally arrive within minutes.
World has not published a fixed processing time, fee schedule or timetable for extending the arrangement to every country. Stripe is the default funding method in the redesigned US experience.
The service builds on infrastructure provided by Bridge, which Stripe acquired. World introduced personal virtual accounts in 2025, allowing users to receive bank transfers and paycheques before supported deposits were converted into digital assets in their self-custody wallets.
For US dollar virtual accounts, Lead Bank provides account and routing details, while Bridge converts incoming dollars into USDC and deposits it into the user’s World Wallet on World Chain. Employer and paycheque deposits are supported where available.
World also offers Ripio-powered virtual accounts in Argentina, Colombia and Mexico. These use local payment systems for deposits and withdrawals, but do not support every feature offered by the US service; paycheque deposits are not available through the Ripio accounts.
World previously said its Bridge-powered accounts had expanded beyond an initial US pilot to Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan. In December 2025, it reported nearly 38 million World App users and more than 850 million processed transactions.
Earn programmes and World ID
The new Earn section replaces World’s earlier WLD and USDC Vault products. Eligible users can deposit assets into on-chain lending programmes and track rewards without managing the underlying DeFi transactions themselves.
The programme currently lists WLD, USDC, wrapped Ether and wrapped Bitcoin, with Morpho providing the lending infrastructure. Displayed APYs depend on protocol rates, deposited amounts and promotional incentives. Earn is unavailable in some countries, rates can change, and withdrawals depend on on-chain liquidity and protocol conditions.
World says principal is not guaranteed and identifies smart-contract failure and protocol default as risks. Earn balances are not bank deposits and are not covered by FDIC, SIPC or other government insurance.
World ID-verified users may receive promotional boosts on eligible programmes. Current terms apply enhanced rewards to the first 1,000 WLD and first 1,000 USDC deposited into qualifying programmes, although those terms can change.
World Money and World ID App now operate separately. Updated support documentation dated Sept. 16 states that World ID App manages identity verification and credentials, while World Money handles wallets and financial functions. Both apps share the same World ID.
Orb verification remains available through World Money for a limited period and is used to establish that a person is unique for selected rewards and experiences. World said in its launch post: “Money moves differently when accounts belong to people.”
World Money also contains Mini Apps including Kalshi, Credit and Morpho, subject to local eligibility. WLD was trading at about $0.37 on Sept. 17, with CoinMarketCap showing a daily rise of roughly 3.2% at the time of its snapshot.
World’s terms say the service is offered by Tools for Humanity and is not a bank. Stripe, Bridge, Morpho and other partners remain subject to their own terms and local availability.
