TRON’s native token TRX has been listed for both spot and perpetual trading on Backpack Exchange, in a move the blockchain project says will broaden access to its ecosystem for users around the world.
The Geneva-based TRON DAO, which governs the TRON blockchain, confirmed the launch on Backpack’s regulated platform on 29 July 2026, describing it as a further step in expanding market support for one of the industry’s most actively used networks.
The listing means Backpack customers in eligible jurisdictions can now trade TRX on spot markets as well as through perpetual contracts, using the exchange’s existing infrastructure for digital asset derivatives and spot products.
Backpack, which says it has handled more than $400bn in cumulative trading volume, targets both experienced cryptocurrency traders and those entering Web3 markets for the first time. It operates a regulated exchange that offers a range of trading tools within a single, compliant venue.
“Infrastructural” step for TRON
TRON DAO framed the listing as a way of plugging the TRON network’s scale into a tightly supervised trading environment.
“With over 14 billion transactions processed and 3.5 million daily users, TRON demonstrates a blockchain engineered for high-volume, real-world activity,” said Sam Elfarra, Community Spokesperson for TRON DAO.
“Bringing TRON to Backpack embeds that proven infrastructure into a regulated exchange, giving users worldwide a secure gateway to trade and manage digital assets.”
By adding TRX to its line-up of markets, Backpack gives traders in both established and emerging regions a more direct route into the TRON ecosystem, without having to split activity across several platforms or use separate custody arrangements.
The exchange currently supports users in more than 150 countries, offering spot trading, perpetual contracts and a wider suite of products from the same interface.
Role in digital asset settlement
TRON DAO argues the tie-up underlines TRON’s positioning as a base layer for digital asset ownership, trading and settlement, as it continues to increase the number of exchanges and venues where TRX can be bought, sold and held.
The organisation characterises the agreement with Backpack as part of a broader expansion strategy aimed at cementing TRON’s standing within the wider digital economy.
Founded in September 2017, the TRON blockchain launched its MainNet in May 2018 and has since posted rapid growth in user numbers and network activity.
According to data from TRONSCAN cited by TRON DAO, as of July 2026 the network had registered more than 395 million user accounts and processed over 14 billion transactions, with total value locked (TVL) above $27bn.
TRON previously hosted the largest circulating supply of USD Tether (USDT), the world’s biggest stablecoin by market capitalisation, and that supply still exceeds $90bn on the network.
The project says its infrastructure has been recognised as a global settlement layer for stablecoin transfers and day-to-day payments, encapsulated in its slogan “Moving Trillions, Empowering Billions.”
TRON DAO describes itself as a community-governed organisation focused on speeding up the decentralisation of the internet through blockchain technology and decentralised applications (dApps).
The DAO maintains a presence across multiple online channels, including TRONNetwork, TRONDAO, X, YouTube, Telegram, Discord, Reddit, GitHub, Medium and its own forum.
