In a significant move for Singapore’s digital asset sector, Sygnum Singapore has partnered with trading platform Moomoo Singapore to introduce an innovative cryptocurrency fund aimed at accredited investors.
The fund, officially named the Digital Asset Multi-Manager Fund, will be made available to Moomoo users starting in the first quarter of 2025, according to Sygnum’s announcement on December 18. This marks the first actively managed cryptocurrency fund of its kind to feature on a digital investment and wealth management platform in Singapore.
Moomoo Singapore’s country head, Echo Zhao, highlighted the growing interest in digital assets among high-net-worth clients. “Many high-net-worth clients now view digital assets as key to having a modern and resilient portfolio,” she said. Zhao added that as the digital asset market matures, clients increasingly seek to diversify their risks while leveraging active management strategies to enhance returns.
Long-Term Growth Opportunities
Gerald Goh, co-founder and Asia-Pacific chief executive of Sygnum, emphasized the potential for long-term capital appreciation offered by the fund. “The fund was created to provide investors with the opportunity for long-term capital appreciation by participating in the crypto megatrend,” Goh explained. He added that the multi-manager fund allows accredited investors to gain exposure to a variety of strategies and managers.
The initiative comes amid growing global acceptance of digital assets, further fueled by recent developments in the United States. The cryptocurrency sector has seen heightened activity in Singapore and abroad following Donald Trump’s victory in the November U.S. presidential election. Industry experts expect the incoming administration to adopt a more crypto-friendly stance, potentially spurring further growth in the sector.
Rising Demand for Digital Assets
The fund’s launch reflects the broader trend of digital assets entering the mainstream. Zhao noted that this shift is driven by clients’ desire for diversified portfolios that can weather market uncertainties. “As the nascent digital asset market continues to evolve and mature, investors can look to active management to fully maximize the returns on their investments,” she said.
With Singapore solidifying its position as a hub for cryptocurrency innovation, the collaboration between Sygnum and Moomoo Singapore is poised to set new benchmarks in digital asset investment. The launch of this pioneering fund underscores the growing integration of cryptocurrencies into wealth management strategies, offering investors new opportunities in an ever-evolving market.
