Pump.fun has moved beyond its Solana meme coin platform by launching access to perpetual futures trading through the decentralised exchange Hyperliquid.
The new service allows users to speculate on cryptocurrency prices with leverage, while Pump.fun can charge builder fees of up to 0.10% per order and bridge fees of up to 0.25%. Its updated terms, published on 17 October 2026, state that users in the United States and Ontario cannot access the feature.
Pump.fun became known for helping users create and trade Solana meme coins. Its latest expansion takes the company into derivatives, offering contracts that allow traders to take positions on cryptocurrency prices without owning the underlying assets or having to close them on a fixed expiry date.
The arrangement enables Pump.fun to offer the service without running a derivatives exchange itself. Pump.fun supplies the user interface, while Hyperliquid manages order matching, collateral, funding payments and liquidations.
Users keep control of their own wallets, and their positions remain available through Hyperliquid even if Pump.fun is no longer accessible. Earlier trading data indicated that the service supported bitcoin contracts with leverage of up to 40x and ethereum contracts with leverage of up to 25x.
Under the updated fee schedule, Pump.fun may charge up to 0.10% of an order’s value when a trader opens a position, adds to it or closes it. A $10,000 trade could therefore incur a $10 builder fee.
The integrated bridge, used to move funds, carries a separate charge of up to 0.25%. That means transferring $1,000 could cost $2.50 before any additional external fees are applied. Hyperliquid’s own trading charges and other third-party costs are payable separately.
The restrictions are not limited to people physically located in the United States. Pump.fun’s terms also exclude users in American territories, alongside users in Ontario, sanctioned jurisdictions and other prohibited categories.
Users are also forbidden from using virtual private networks to bypass those geographic and eligibility restrictions.
Leverage brings a significant risk of rapid losses. A relatively small move against a trader’s position can exhaust the collateral supporting it, after which Hyperliquid automatically liquidates the position if margin requirements are no longer met.
For Pump.fun, the move creates a further source of fee revenue alongside its established meme coin business. For traders, it provides access to larger market exposure without directly holding the assets, but involves several separate charges and the possibility of losing the entire position.
