Phantom will withdraw support for the Sui network on 24 September 2026, meaning users will no longer be able to view balances, send or swap tokens, or connect to Sui applications through the wallet’s interface.
The decision comes fewer than 20 months after Phantom introduced native Sui support in January 2025. The company has not publicly stated why it is ending the integration.
Phantom said users will not lose ownership of their assets as a result of the change. SUI and other tokens will remain recorded on the Sui blockchain and will continue to be controlled by the relevant recovery phrase or private key.
Once the transition takes effect, Phantom will remove Sui from its list of supported networks and stop showing Sui balances. Transaction tools, token swaps and access to decentralised applications on the network will also disappear from the wallet.
Any existing connections between Phantom and Sui-based applications will cease to function. Users who move to another compatible wallet will need to reconnect those services using the replacement application.
The withdrawal reverses an expansion announced in early 2025, when Phantom added native access to Sui assets and applications. Sui was the first blockchain built on the Move programming language to receive support from Phantom.
When the integration launched, users could manage SUI and other tokens issued on the network, carry out swaps and connect to applications including Suilend, Bluefin, Navi and Aftermath.
There has been no report from Phantom of a security breach or network failure linked to the decision. Its support notice describes the move as a product transition but does not give a technical or commercial explanation.
Users who want to remain within Phantom can exchange their Sui assets for tokens on networks that will continue to be supported. The alternatives listed include SOL, ETH and USDC.
Phantom has also temporarily removed its own charge for cross-chain swaps that convert native SUI into wrapped SUI on Solana. That waiver will remain available until 24 September, although network and exchange fees will still apply.
Wrapped SUI is different from native SUI. It is a Solana-based token that represents SUI moved through cross-chain infrastructure. Users should check the destination network and token contract before approving a transaction.
Those who want to keep their assets as native Sui tokens can import their Phantom recovery phrase into a compatible wallet. Phantom recommends Slush, the wallet associated with the Sui ecosystem.
If the correct credentials are used, the same Sui address and assets should be displayed after the wallet has been restored. Users with additional recovery phrases or private keys imported separately will need to move each set of assets individually.
Migration is possible before or after 24 September because there is no deadline for accessing the assets on the Sui blockchain. However, completing the process in advance will allow users to check their balances and confirm that they can access the replacement wallet before Phantom removes its Sui interface.
Phantom warned users that it will never initiate contact, ask for a recovery phrase or offer to transfer assets on their behalf. Unsolicited offers of migration support should be regarded as potential scams.
The change may create opportunities for phishing attempts, with criminals able to imitate support accounts, distribute fake wallet applications or direct users to websites designed to capture recovery phrases.
Attackers have previously used fraudulent update prompts to steal Phantom recovery phrases. Those messages were made to look like genuine wallet notifications and gave attackers full control of wallets when users entered their credentials.
Users should download any replacement wallet from its official website and independently check the domain. Recovery phrases should never be entered into websites, support chats or forms shared through social media.
Importing a recovery phrase into another application gives that software access to the same wallet. Users should therefore verify the application carefully and keep the recovery phrase stored offline after the process is complete.
Phantom will not automatically transfer, delete or convert any Sui assets. It will remove Sui balances, transaction tools and application connections from its interface.
Anyone who takes no action can regain access later by importing the correct credentials into a compatible Sui wallet. Phantom has not said whether it plans to restore Sui support in the future.
The 24 September deadline applies to Phantom’s in-app features and its waiver of the swap fee, not to ownership of the underlying assets. Users who want to trade within Phantom or confirm their migration should complete those actions before the deadline.
