Memecoin.Fun has raised $3.5m in strategic funding to build a token launch platform and cross-chain tools on Robinhood Chain, positioning itself at the centre of a fast-growing market where memecoins already dominate trading activity.
The project, which aims to become a launchpad for new tokens on Robinhood Chain and other networks, confirmed that Becker Ventures led the funding round. BitValue Capital, Mason Labs, Negentropy Capital and angel investor Billy Wen also took part.
All investments were settled using the USDG token. Memecoin.Fun did not disclose the valuation agreed with backers or specific terms of the deal, keeping key financial details of the round confidential.
Focus on launchpad and multichain tools
Memecoin.Fun said the capital will be directed towards developing its core products and underlying technical systems. Plans include building dedicated launchpad infrastructure for Robinhood Chain, adding cross-chain bridge functionality and funding research and operations for a platform intended to support memecoins across multiple blockchains.
The decision to work on both token-launch and cross-chain capabilities at the same time places Memecoin.Fun in direct competition with other projects already courting token creators and traders on Robinhood Chain. The announcement did not provide a timeline for releasing the launchpad, bridge or multichain product, leaving the schedule for its tools open.
The funding round comes as token issuance platforms roll out new offerings for Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum Layer 2 network that went live on 1 July. While Robinhood Chain was designed with an emphasis on bringing traditional financial assets on-chain, early usage has been driven largely by speculative trading.
Data previously reported by crypto.news shows that memecoins account for more than 80% of decentralized exchange (DEX) activity on the network. That concentration means token launch platforms targeting memecoins are tapping into Robinhood Chain’s most active segment, even as the chain builds infrastructure for tokenized stocks and other real-world assets.
Rival launchpad Pons prepares major upgrade
Memecoin.Fun’s move comes as another launchpad, Pons, readies a significant update of its own. According to an earlier report by crypto.news, Pons unveiled plans for its V2 upgrade on 23 July, with deployment scheduled for the following week.
The V2 release is expected to introduce an Ether-based bonding curve, integration with Uniswap V4, creator payouts in ETH and trading pairs tied to tokenized real-world assets. The Pons team says the new version will reshape how tokens are issued, traded and moved into decentralized liquidity pools on Robinhood Chain.
However, two partners are still auditing the updated contracts, and Pons has warned that some of the proposed features could change before launch. The platform attributed its redesign to feedback gathered during its first weeks online.
After suffering several attacks shortly after going live, Pons worked with infrastructure providers to stabilise its protocol. The team has said it intends to continue developing products for Robinhood Chain traders.
The two platforms are pursuing contrasting strategies within the same emerging ecosystem. Memecoin.Fun has secured external capital to develop a launchpad, bridge services and multichain support, while Pons is focusing its upgrade on ETH liquidity, Uniswap V4 connectivity, revenue tools for creators and tokenized-asset trading pairs.
Neither project has released directly comparable metrics, such as user numbers, trading volume, token-launch totals or revenue figures. On the information available, it is not yet clear which launchpad is seeing greater activity, or whether their upcoming products will attract sustained liquidity.
Rapid early growth on Robinhood Chain
The competition between launchpads is unfolding against a backdrop of rapid growth on Robinhood Chain. Within three weeks of its mainnet debut, the network had attracted $431m in total value locked and close to $400m in stablecoin market capitalisation, according to figures previously cited by crypto.news.
Those totals provide a growing pool of on-chain capital for launch platforms, although crypto.news has noted that most DEX trading remains heavily concentrated in memecoins rather than tokenized real-world assets.
Further evidence of strong early adoption was set out by FalconX in a research primer published on Monday. Drawing on network data, the digital asset brokerage reported that Robinhood Chain was processing around 6 million transactions a day and serving more than 250,000 daily active users following its 1 July mainnet launch.
Using data from Artemis, FalconX also said Robinhood Chain had overtaken Coinbase’s Base network on several activity measures. The firm estimated cumulative DEX volume at close to $9bn, underlining the scale of trading during the chain’s opening weeks.
FalconX described Robinhood Chain as one of the busiest blockchains in the market after launch, but its analysis did not assess how much of this activity would persist beyond the initial period. Combined with crypto.news data showing memecoins responsible for more than four-fifths of exchange volume, the findings point to speculative tokens as the primary driver of early use.
Funding fuels Memecoin.Fun’s next steps
For Memecoin.Fun, the $3.5m raise offers fresh resources to compete for that flow of trades while building links to other chains. Its proposed bridge is intended to allow assets or users to move between networks, and the planned all-chain product would extend its launchpad model beyond Robinhood Chain if development is completed as outlined.
Key operational details are yet to be confirmed. The project has not identified which external blockchains it will support, which partners will provide bridge security, when audits will take place or when its products will go live.
Those decisions – and the pace at which Memecoin.Fun can turn its new funding into working infrastructure – will help determine how it fares as Pons and other launchpads introduce rival tools for Robinhood Chain’s expanding community of traders and token creators.
