Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded net outflows of $236.46m on Tuesday, led by a $201.18m withdrawal from BlackRock’s IBIT, as investors shifted towards Ether, XRP, Solana and HYPE products.
The figures show a clear divergence across the cryptocurrency ETF market, with demand remaining positive in several categories despite heavy selling in Bitcoin funds.
Fidelity’s FBTC recorded the second-largest outflow among Bitcoin products at $43.67m. Bitwise’s BITB attracted $8.38m, but that inflow was not enough to offset the wider withdrawals.
Total trading value across Bitcoin ETFs was $2.69bn, while their combined net assets fell to $97.12bn.
The reversal has added to uncertainty for traders monitoring the bitcoin price, with ETF activity viewed as one of the most important indicators of institutional interest in the market.
Despite Tuesday’s outflows, investors who bought IBIT when it launched remain around 29% ahead of the S&P 500 ETF VOO, according to Jay Dilks. Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas also pointed to IBIT’s relative strength since inception, while noting that those returns had been accompanied by significantly greater volatility.
Ether funds extend inflow run
Ether ETFs attracted $10.95m on Tuesday, extending their run of daily inflows to 12 consecutive trading sessions.
BlackRock’s ETHB led the sector with $11.20m of new investment. Fidelity’s FETH received $4.81m, while Morgan Stanley’s MSSE brought in $2.34m.
Those gains were partly reduced by a $7.40m outflow from Grayscale’s ETHE. Even so, Ether ETFs finished the day in positive territory, with trading value of $791.51m and net assets of $15.21bn.
XRP products also recorded consistent demand. The group attracted $14.38m, with no reported outflows from any of the funds.
Franklin’s XRPZ received the largest share, taking in $6.63m. Grayscale’s GXRP followed with $4.72m, while Canary’s XRPC added $3.03m.
XRP ETF trading value totalled $39.21m and net assets ended the session at $1.44bn. The flow data may provide another indicator for investors assessing XRP’s price.
Solana and HYPE funds attract fresh money
Solana ETFs posted $10.19m in inflows. Bitwise’s BSOL accounted for $6.17m, with Fidelity’s FSOL adding $2.67m and Morgan Stanley’s MSOL bringing in a further $1.36m.
Trading value across Solana products reached $68.55m, while combined net assets closed at $1.39bn.
HYPE ETFs also ended the session higher. Grayscale’s HYPG received the entire $1.76m inflow recorded by the sector. Trading value was $34.22m and net assets finished at $455.33m.
The figures suggest investors have not abandoned riskier cryptocurrency assets, but are allocating capital more selectively. Bitcoin funds faced a sharp pullback while Ether, XRP, Solana and HYPE products continued to receive money.
Bitcoin ETFs had returned to inflows of $216.70m on Monday, recovering quickly from an interruption on Friday. Ether funds also continued their positive run.
