Bitcoin exchange-traded funds in the United States recorded $175.62 million in net inflows on Tuesday, while ether funds ended a 10-session run of withdrawals with $24.84 million attracted.
The return of institutional buying was led by Fidelity’s FBTC, which received $103.06 million, and BlackRock’s IBIT, with $65.89 million. Morgan Stanley’s MSBT contributed a further $6.67 million.
Bitcoin ETF trading volume reached $1.65 billion, with total net assets rising to $106.98 billion. The figures marked a clear reversal from Monday, when the funds recorded $65.40 million in outflows.
Tuesday’s result was particularly notable after bitcoin products lost about $681 million over the previous five sessions. The latest inflows suggest institutional investors may be rebuilding their positions, rather than responding only to short-term changes in bitcoin’s price.
Bitcoin has twice defended the roughly $81,500 cost basis of US spot ETF investors, despite the $681 million in net outflows.
Ether products also moved into positive territory for the first time in 10 sessions. Grayscale’s Ether Mini Trust accounted for $16.73 million of the inflows, while Fidelity’s FETH brought in $8.11 million.
Ether ETF trading volume was $521.08 million and net assets ended the session at $15.83 billion.
The shift is significant because ether had been the main focus of sustained institutional selling in recent weeks. However, Tuesday’s total remained relatively small compared with the hundreds of millions withdrawn during the preceding run of redemptions. Several more positive sessions would be needed to show that the broader reduction in risk had ended.
Solana and Zcash remain under pressure
The improvement was not shared by the wider cryptocurrency ETF market.
Solana ETFs recorded another $1.04 million in outflows through Bitwise’s BSOL, extending their losing run to seven sessions. Net assets fell to $1.71 billion.
The continued withdrawals came after solana’s 14-week sequence of positive weekly flows ended last week. The asset, previously one of the strongest higher-risk institutional trades, has yet to regain momentum.
Zcash ETFs also remained in negative territory. Grayscale’s ZCSH lost $5.19 million, reducing net assets to $677.30 million. HYPE and XRP ETFs reported no net flows.
NEAR was the main exception among the smaller ETF categories. Bitwise’s NRR attracted a further $3.93 million, taking its net assets to $79.17 million.
The session’s figures showed a measured return of risk appetite, with bitcoin receiving the largest allocation, ether attracting buyers again and NEAR continuing to build steadily. Solana and zcash, by contrast, remained under selling pressure.
If bitcoin and ether record further inflows during the week, Tuesday could represent an early indication of wider institutional stabilisation after a prolonged period of defensive positioning.
