Bitcoin.com Wallet users can now hold, send, swap and buy TRX and USDT on the TRON network directly through the app, after Bitcoin.com announced native TRON support.
The self-custody wallet’s integration is available immediately on iOS, Android and the web. It means users can transact with people or services requesting a TRC20 address without bridging assets, opening a separate wallet or leaving the Bitcoin.com application.
TRON is one of the most widely used networks for processing USDT transactions. USDT-TRC20 is accepted for deposits and withdrawals by a broad range of major cryptocurrency exchanges and payment services, making it a common option for transfers between exchanges and dollar-denominated payments in emerging markets.
Bitcoin.com said the move was intended to meet demand from users who want access to the network through a wallet they already use.
“Our users do not think in terms of chains. They think about who they need to pay and what that person asked them for. A very large number of those requests say USDT on TRON, and until now we could not answer them. That is the gap this closes,” said Bitcoin.com CEO Corbin Fraser.
The integration gives Bitcoin.com Wallet users native access to TRX, the TRON network’s cryptocurrency, and USDT-TRC20, the TRON-based version of Tether’s US dollar-linked stablecoin. The assets can be managed within the same mobile application used for other everyday crypto activity.
“With more than $90 billion in USDT circulating on TRON and $23 billion in daily transfer volume, TRON is already a leading network for stablecoin payments,” said Justin Sun, Founder of TRON. “Users want to hold and spend stablecoins on TRON directly from the wallets they use every day. Bitcoin.com Wallet’s integration meets that demand, bringing TRON’s settlement infrastructure into a familiar wallet and making stablecoin payments faster, simpler, and more accessible.”
TRON’s network is used for stablecoin settlement and everyday purchases, while its wide acceptance across exchanges and payment platforms has helped establish it as a significant route for moving USDT at scale.
Bitcoin.com describes its wallet as a non-custodial, multi-chain service used by millions of people worldwide to hold, send, swap and buy digital assets. The company says its wider mission is to increase people’s freedom and prosperity by providing access to Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash and other leading cryptocurrencies.
