Binance will delist Epic Chain (EPIC) and QuickSwap (QUICK) on 28 October, with the decision sending QUICK down 19.67% and EPIC 10.54% over 24 hours, according to CoinGecko data.
All spot trading pairs involving the two cryptocurrencies will close at 03:00 UTC on 28 October. Binance announced the decision on 14 October after its latest review of listed digital assets.
QuickSwap was trading at about $0.008169, down 15.52% over seven days, with its market capitalisation falling to approximately $5.37m. Its daily trading volume was around $1.47m and its circulating supply approximately 660 million tokens.
Epic Chain traded near $0.4001 after falling 10.54% in 24 hours and 16.10% over seven days. Its market capitalisation stood at about $13.48m, daily volume reached $10m and its circulating supply was close to 34 million EPIC.
TradingView data from the minutes after the announcement showed QUICK falling by about 10% compared with its pre-announcement price. After roughly 17 minutes, it remained 6.69% below that level.
EPIC initially fell by about 9% before recovering during the same short period. It later traded approximately 5.61% above its price immediately before the announcement. The different short-term and 24-hour measurements cover separate periods and should not be treated as equivalent.
Why are EPIC and QUICK being removed?
Binance said its review found that Epic Chain and QuickSwap no longer met its requirements for continued listing. It did not specify an individual breach or particular reason for either removal.
The exchange said it considers trading volume, liquidity, development activity, project-team commitment, network security, communication with tokenholders and regulatory compliance when assessing listed assets. Changes in token supply, project ownership and leadership are also taken into account.
Both tokens had previously been given Binance’s Monitoring Tag, which places assets under closer scrutiny because of their risk characteristics. QUICK received the tag on 30 April and EPIC on 22 May.
Binance says a Monitoring Tag can lead to removal if an asset fails later reviews, although the designation does not automatically mean a delisting. In August, ICON, Moonbeam and Moonriver were among five additional cryptocurrencies placed under closer review.
The exchange’s previous August removals affected six cryptocurrencies, including PIVX and Vulcan Forged PYR.
Futures and other services
The removal process begins before the spot-market deadline. Binance will stop supporting EPIC and QUICK through Buy & Sell Crypto at 03:00 UTC on 15 October, while margin borrowing will end at 06:00 UTC.
On 20 October, Binance Pool and Binance Pay support will end at 03:00 UTC. VIP Loan and Flexible Loan positions will close at 07:00 UTC.
Binance Futures will prevent new positions from 08:30 UTC, then automatically settle and remove remaining contracts at 09:00 UTC. At 10:00 UTC, Binance Margin will remove the tokens from cross, isolated and portfolio margin services. Positions may be closed automatically, with collateral sold or used to settle liabilities.
The exchange may also impose further safeguards, including leverage limits, maintenance-margin requirements and funding-rate changes, during periods of unusual volatility.
Spot Copy Trading will remove the affected pairs at 03:00 UTC on 21 October. Holdings may be sold at market prices or transferred to spot accounts. Binance Simple Earn will end support after 07:00 UTC, automatically redeeming Flexible and Locked Product positions and transferring principal and accrued rewards to spot accounts.
Withdrawals continue until December
Low-value asset conversion will stop supporting the tokens at 02:00 UTC on 27 October. Binance Convert will remove them and their associated pairs at 02:00 UTC on 28 October.
At 03:00 UTC, spot pairs will close, outstanding orders will be cancelled and trading bots linked to those markets will stop operating.
Deposits will no longer be credited after 03:00 UTC on 29 October. Withdrawals will remain available until 03:00 UTC on 28 December.
Balances left after 29 December could be converted into stablecoins, although Binance said this is “not guaranteed”. The exchange will issue a separate notice if it proceeds. If conversion is impossible, withdrawals may remain available subject to network conditions.
Binance did not say whether the project teams would offer alternative trading arrangements, token migrations or other support.
