ARK Invest is bringing its $1.3 billion ARK Venture Fund onchain through Securitize, making it the investment firm’s first fund to be converted to blockchain-based infrastructure.
The tokenised version of the ARK Venture Fund (ARKVX) will be available to eligible investors through Securitize on Ethereum. Securitize will provide the technology for issuing the fund and giving investors access to it.
The move does not change ARKVX’s investment strategy or portfolio. It places the existing actively managed fund on blockchain infrastructure, while its holdings remain subject to change.
ARK Venture Fund invests in private and public technology companies, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Stripe and Databricks. According to the ARK Invest website, ARKVX has approximately $1.3 billion in net assets under management.
“Tokenizing the ARK Venture Fund puts our conviction in the evolution, if not revolution, of capital markets into practice,” said Cathie Wood, founder and CEO of ARK Invest.
“Based on our research, tokenization has the potential to reshape fundamentally the way that investors access and participate in both private and public financial markets.”
The launch develops a relationship between ARK Invest and Securitize that began with ARK’s strategic investment in the company in October 2025. That investment was intended to support the wider adoption of tokenised securities, real-world assets and regulated investment products.
Securitize is the infrastructure provider behind the new onchain fund. The company’s role includes facilitating issuance and investor access to the tokenised ARKVX product on Ethereum.
When Securitize (SECZ) filed to go public through a $1.25 billion SPAC deal in 2025, ARK Invest was among its existing equity holders. Other named investors included BlackRock, Blockchain Capital, Hamilton Lane, Jump Crypto and Morgan Stanley Investment Management.
“ARK has built its business around identifying transformative technologies early and then acting with conviction,” said Carlos Domingo, co-founder and CEO of Securitize.
“ARK’s strategic investment in Securitize reflected a shared belief in the potential for tokenization to transform capital markets, and today we are putting that conviction into practice.”
