Frgmnt has partnered with Anchorage Digital to give institutional clients direct access to its fUSD and sfUSD stablecoin infrastructure through Anchorage’s custody platform.
The stablecoin protocol, which is built on Base, said on Sept. 11 that the integration will allow clients to hold, mint, stake and redeem fUSD within Anchorage Digital’s existing custody environment.
The companies said the arrangement removes the need for institutions to create separate custody set-ups before using Frgmnt’s products. Funds, corporate treasuries and fintech companies will therefore have a more direct route to the protocol’s stablecoin services.
Aurelien Roussel, CEO and co-founder of Frgmnt, said institutions increasingly want onchain products to fit into established operational processes.
“Institutions should be able to access onchain financial products through infrastructure that meets their operational and custody requirements,” Roussel said. “Our partnership with Anchorage Digital brings fUSD and sfUSD into an environment already used by institutional capital.”
Anchorage Digital operates Anchorage Digital Bank, described by the companies as the first federally chartered crypto bank in the U.S. It provides regulated custody, staking, trading and settlement services for institutional clients.
The company’s chief executive, Nathan McCauley, said the partnership reflected rising demand for secure access to decentralised finance.
“Institutional adoption of onchain finance depends on combining access to innovative protocols with the security and operational standards institutions expect,” McCauley said. “Supporting Frgmnt gives our clients another way to access onchain opportunities through trusted institutional infrastructure.”
How the Frgmnt assets work
Frgmnt issues two connected assets on Base. Its primary token, fUSD, is minted against USDC and deployed across selected onchain lending markets.
Users who stake fUSD receive sfUSD, which is designed to generate rewards produced by the protocol’s strategies. Frgmnt said users can monitor its positions and performance metrics onchain through the company’s statistics tools, as well as third-party platforms including Dune and DefiLlama.
The partnership expands Anchorage Digital’s role in connecting institutional investors with decentralised finance. For Frgmnt, it supports a distribution strategy focused on making its stablecoin infrastructure available through platforms already used to manage digital assets.
Frgmnt said deposits would continue to open in capped waves as the protocol expands. The next wave is scheduled for September.
