The YGG Play Summit 2024 brought together leading voices from the Web3 gaming community, offering a platform for groundbreaking discussions and exhilarating tournaments. Held on November 20 at SM Aura in Taguig City, the event’s “Industry Day” showcased insights into content creation and emerging Web3 technologies, alongside thrilling competitive gaming.
Unlocking Content Creation Potential
During a forum themed “Harnessing the Superpower of Audience,” top Web3 gaming creators shared strategies for building an impactful online presence. Yellow Panther, Forbes Web3 Gaming Creator of the Year, emphasized perseverance as a cornerstone of success.
“You may have to post over 100 times before seeing any results, but you have to keep posting. Keep improving video by video slowly, and that’s how you’ll be able to improve over time. You have to just keep showing up daily,” he said.
Wolves DAO Marketing Director Sam Steffanina, who boasts over five billion views on social media, highlighted audience-centric content creation. “Look at what’s working but also ask yourself, ‘What do I wish I could find whenever I’m scrolling and going through social media?’ Then try your best to create it. It’s hard, but if you just keep the mindset for a year or two, you’ll eventually figure it out,” he advised.
Parallel TCG Ambassador Alexandra “Alliestraza” Macpherson underscored the importance of genuine passion in resonating with the gaming community. “People are willing to give support if you are passionate about the game and you’re excited. It starts small until one time you post something, and it gets hundreds of thousands of views,” she explained.
Advancing Web3 Technologies
YGG CEO Gabby Dizon took the stage to discuss how Web3 innovations could transform the future of work. He introduced YGG’s “Future of Work” (FoW) program, which creates decentralized earning opportunities for the community beyond gaming.
“Earlier this year, we started a division in YGG called ‘Future of Work.’ It’s practically doing different tasks that could earn you crypto as a group that is outside of gaming. Things like data labeling, DePIN (decentralized physical infrastructure networks), and many more,” Dizon said.
In collaboration with Base, YGG also unveiled Onchain Guilds, a feature enabling decentralized guilds to track and verify their accomplishments securely via blockchain. “I see guilds very much as the small to medium enterprises (SME) of the Internet, not just of Web3,” Dizon remarked.
Gaming Triumphs
The summit’s gaming tournaments culminated in several remarkable victories. Kadiliman Esports claimed $2,500 as champions of the Indus tournament, while SylphyT1 from Sylphy Academy won $4,000 in the Arena of Faith MOBA competition.
Anichess champion “johnfdong” earned $3,000, blending chess with magic-themed gameplay. Colombian YGG Esports player Zeliaser achieved a major highlight, securing $20,000 as the winner of the Parallel TCG tournament.
The YGG Play Summit 2024 showcased the synergy of innovation, community, and competition, setting a new benchmark for the Web3 gaming industry.
