The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) is enhancing connections between the AI and Web3 sectors of Dubai and Vietnam, signaling transformative opportunities in technology-driven trade. Following the signing of the UAE-Vietnam Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) in October, the partnership aims to unlock a $20 billion trade corridor between the two nations.
As part of its “Made for Trade Live” roadshow, DMCC hosted three major events in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, engaging over 650 business leaders, start-ups, and founders. A significant session, organized in collaboration with Vietnam’s Web3 venture builder Sightsea Labs, focused on scaling Web3 and AI investments.
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, highlighted Vietnam’s pivotal role, stating, “As one of Southeast Asia’s leading hubs for AI innovation and boasting some of the highest crypto adoption rates globally, Vietnam holds tremendous potential in the Web3 space. With the landmark UAE-Vietnam CEPA signed in October, bilateral trade is set to quadruple to $20 billion in the coming years and unlock significant opportunities for new investment and collaboration.”
Dubai’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, including the DMCC Crypto Centre, DMCC Gaming Centre, and DMCC AI Centre, was showcased as a vital resource for Vietnamese businesses aiming to scale their Web3 ventures. The ongoing collaboration underscores DMCC’s commitment to positioning Dubai as a premier global hub for trade and innovation.
This latest roadshow builds on the success of DMCC’s first Vietnam event in June, where 412 business leaders were introduced to Dubai’s business potential. With over 25,000 member companies and contributing 15% to Dubai’s annual foreign direct investment (FDI), DMCC has solidified its role as a cornerstone of Dubai’s economic landscape.
Adding to its initiatives, DMCC partnered with the global crypto exchange Bybit to conclude the second edition of the Middle East’s largest Web3 hackathon. Featuring 15 innovative start-ups and a $160,000 prize pool, the event spotlighted cutting-edge projects in tokenization, AI, zero-knowledge protocols, and decentralized infrastructure.
Ahmed Bin Sulayem praised the event’s achievements, stating, “By pioneering new solutions in tokenisation, AI, and zero-knowledge protocols, the DMCC-Bybit hackathon continues to show why Dubai remains at the forefront of Web3 innovation.”
Ben Zhou, Co-founder and CEO of Bybit, added, “It is safe to say there is such an abundance of Web3 talent here in Dubai. The fierce competition displayed a clear ethos of innovation, so we are proud to work with DMCC to advance Web3 globally.”
As Dubai and Vietnam strengthen their technological and economic ties, this partnership signals a bold new chapter for trade, innovation, and global collaboration.
