A wallet linked to the Official Trump meme coin team has transferred another 11.01 million SOL, worth about $26.65m, only weeks before a scheduled release of additional TRUMP tokens.
The latest transaction was highlighted by on-chain investigators, who said the Official Trump Meme Team wallet made the transfer a few hours ago. The movement is part of a wider pattern involving the wallet, which has shifted more than $150m worth of TRUMP-linked tokens to exchanges since April.
The activity has drawn continued attention because large transfers by wallets associated with a token project can suggest that holders are preparing to sell, although a transfer to an exchange does not by itself prove that a sale has taken place.
Bitcoin.com News previously reported that the team generated $3.39m from TRUMP token sales during one period. Several weeks earlier, another wallet connected with the project moved $17m in TRUMP to BitGo custody. That transaction renewed questions over how actively the team is managing the allocation of tokens that it still holds.
The next major scheduled event is a vesting release of 28.7 million TRUMP tokens on 18 September. The amount represents about 2.9% of the token’s total supply.
It is one of 34 planned unlocks due to take place through December 2027 under the project’s original tokenomics. Those plans were designed to release gradually about 80% of the total supply that was not placed into circulation when the token launched.
Token unlocks can weigh on prices by increasing the amount available to the market. Projects with large reserves may move tokens before such events, potentially allowing them to manage or sell holdings ahead of the additional supply becoming available.
The developments contrast sharply with the performance of bitcoin this year. While bitcoin recorded its strongest August in almost a decade, TRUMP has moved in the opposite direction. The token was trading at about $2.41, around 97% below its peak of $73.43, reached in the days after its launch in January 2025.
The decline is consistent with a broader pattern often seen among meme coins, particularly those built around political branding. Such tokens frequently register their biggest gains during the initial period of attention and speculation, a pattern that TRUMP has closely followed.
Its launch also prompted questions about potential conflicts of interest and attracted scrutiny from senators including Elizabeth Warren, Adam Schiff and Richard Blumenthal.
The TRUMP team has previously shown a willingness to extract value through several different mechanisms. With the 18 September unlock now less than three weeks away, further on-chain alerts may emerge before the new tokens enter circulating supply.
The market’s response to the release could offer an indication of how much demand remains for TRUMP as it moves into its second year. A further decline would suggest that the incoming supply is adding to existing pressure, while a limited reaction could indicate that the market is able to absorb the tokens without significant disruption.
The report also refers to an account followed by President Trump launching a Solana token called GOLD during the week and then dumping its entire 224.5 million-token holding.
