Egyptian billionaire and entrepreneur Naguib Sawiris has launched Moniify, a cutting-edge digital platform tailored for Gen Z entrepreneurs and investors. Based in the United Arab Emirates, the initiative aims to reshape financial education by offering insights into emerging markets and sectors poised to define the future, such as technology, artificial intelligence, cryptocurrency, and space exploration.
A Vision for the Future
Speaking at the launch event at Dubai International Financial Centre, Sawiris explained why the UAE was chosen as the hub for Moniify.
“It has got a good central geographical location,” he said. “There is freedom to move around, and you are safe. The ease of doing business in the UAE is unmatched. Everything is done digitally. It becomes very easy to do business.”
He also praised the forward-thinking leadership of Dubai’s Ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. “[He] built the Dubai Media City 20-30 years ago, and at the time it was unique,” Sawiris noted.
The platform reflects Sawiris’s vision of empowering young minds. “Young people today need more than traditional business and finance news,” he said. “They always ask me, ‘What is the secret to success?’—that is my motivation for Moniify, to be the formula for them to achieve their dreams.”
Bridging the Generational Gap
Dr. Yaser Bishr, adviser to the chairman, highlighted the platform’s mission to equip young people with the tools to achieve financial independence.
“Our goal really is to help young people become financially independent,” he said. “We want to help the young generations navigate these complex, evolving markets in key sectors that will define the next decade of the economy, like AI, decentralized finance, crypto, and space investments.”
Michael Peters, CEO of Moniify, emphasized the platform’s unique position in the media landscape. “There is no platform on finance and business that is capturing the millennials and Gen Z,” Peters explained. “Traditional media offers a Western view of emerging markets. Our goal is to let emerging markets tell the world more stories.”
Content Tailored for a Global Audience
Moniify has enlisted content creators from regions like Malaysia, Singapore, and India to create engaging and digestible videos. Topics will range from satellite manufacturing in the Middle East to energy crises, cryptocurrency, and artificial intelligence.
Presenter Ornella Hernandez will lead discussions on space technology. “Our first video will focus on how companies are manufacturing satellites in the region,” she said.
Meanwhile, Uptin Saiidi, who hosts a daily show on the platform, highlighted the challenge of tailoring content for diverse audiences. “The challenge is how does someone in Indonesia want their news about Saudi or UAE,” he said. “That is what we are constantly conscious of when framing our content.”
A Platform for the Next Generation
Moniify is not just another business news platform—it’s a dynamic tool designed to empower young minds and offer them actionable knowledge. Whether through breaking down complex concepts or exploring emerging industries, the platform seeks to inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs and investors ready to make smarter, informed decisions.
